The Huron Carol (Jesous Ahatonia) is attributed to Jean de Brébeuf (1593-1649).
Amusing settings of ‘Chopsticks’. English horn 1 can be played by oboe d’amore. For: 2Ob, 2EH, 3Bn, CBn. Performed at the 2017 International Double Reed Society conference at Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin on JUne 21, 2017.
Composed for 8 flutes, this work is based on clusters of pitches mainly between the notes in the two octaves above the flute's low d-natural. Rhythms are not difficult. The title is intended to invoke Calliope, the Greek Muse of heroic poetry, not the keyboard-operated steam whistle. It is dedicated to Dr. Lisa Jelle and the Capital University Conservatory of Music Flute Ensemble who gave the first public performance.
Tried and true selection for school concerts. The audience can sing along, but there are some amusing twist and turns to throw them off (a little bit!).
Settings of the Burgundian melody attributed to Bernard de la Monnoye (1641 – 1728). A Christmastime favorite.
These pieces were composed in 1977 for piano but are much happier in the strings. The four movements are: Prelude(0'42"); Scherzo (0'32"); Duet (1'24") and Finale (0'50"). The work is dedicated to Zoe Johnstone in appreciation for her support of musical activities in Central Ohio. The difficulty level is about 7 on a scale of 1 (easy) to 10.
Very handy for school concerts and makes a great 'ender' for any concert.

An historic tune played by town musicians (‘Waits’). Often heard at Christmastime as “Past Three O'Clock on a Cold, Frosty Morning”. The music in this version is different from the woodwind quintet version. The version can be heard on the OBOHIO recording "Season's Reedings" on Coronet Recordings compact disc 401-5.
A pre-printed, paper version is not available on the website.
