Five Low is a set of five short pieces for tuba and piano: 1. Wake Up Tune (1’39), 2. Somber Song (1’42), 3. Low Five (2’14), 4. Bluesy (1’17), 5. Tread Lightly (1’40). The total music time is 8’32.
Somber Song is based upon the solo tuba piece in my Eight from Quebec for brass quintet. Low Five has two other versions in my catalogue, one shorter one for tuba and piano (1’26) [1522A] and one for flute and tuba [1522B] of the same length. The flute and tuba version is in the repertoire of the Amy Ridings and Patrick Scianella’s outstanding touring duo Double Play.
Two movements for alto and baritone saxophones. It was created at the suggestion of the dedicatee, Dr. Heidi Radtke, after she heard the original version for English horn and bass clarinet. Sarabande invokes the historic slow dance form in triple time. The Scherzo has playful treatments of octave doublings with occasional "wrong" notes.

A short piece dedicated "To the memory of tony Morelli and Eric Joering of the Westerville, Ohio Police Department". Not intended as a funeral march, the piece remembers the lives of two policemen killed in the line of duty.
Composed for a reed quintet of oboe, B-clarinet, alto saxophone, bass clarinet and bassoon to commemorate a joyous, unbuttoned moment. The dedication is:
With joyful exuberance
Suddenly she runs
A farewell to infanthood
This is a transcription of Christian Julius Weissenborn's (1849 - 1888) delightful scherzo for four solo bassoons and chamber winds. The instrumentation is: flute, oboe, 4 B-flat clarinets, bass clarinet, 2 horns in F and double bass OR tuba. We also publish the accompaniment for string quintet or string orchestra [0005E]. It is dedicated to physician/bassoonist Dr. Larry Kramer who urged me to make the four bassoon version.

Yet another version of this short very easy piece for similar sounding instruments. The PDF version will be sent to the buyer after we verify payment.
This moody, single movement work calls for a quartet of soprano, alto, tenor and baritone saxophones. The passacaglia ostinato appears first in the baritone sax, then works its way through all the instruments. It is dedicated to the memory of The Ohio State University School of Music's beloved theory professor Dr. Burdette Green (1921 - 2017).

This single movement sonata for three violins and bass by Giovanni Gabrieli (1556? - 1612) appeared in the posthumous 1615 collection of his works. The transcription for 4 bassoons is easy to play with the highest note in the first bassoon part being F4. A wonderful way to get to know Gabrieli's majestic music.

The second passacaglia composed for the standard woodwind quintet in 2015 with revisions in 2018. The mood of this one is introspective. It is dedicated "To the memory of Burdette Green (1921 – 2017)", my Ohio State University colleague and outstanding music theory teacher. Also comes with a part for B-flat clarinet.

A Passacaglia for the standard woodwind quintet: flute, oboe, clarinet in B-flat, bassoon and horn in F. Composed in 2008 and slightly revised in 2016, then the title revised to Passacaglia I in 2018. The work eagerly awaiting it's first performance!
